Wystąpieniu ropnia mogą towarzyszyć objawy ogólne takie jak złe samopoczucie, osłabienie lub podwyższona temperatura.
Przyczyny ropnia piersi
Ropień piersi występuje najczęściej w okresie połogowym, ale może być również następstwem urazu lub zabiegu chirurgicznego w obrębie gruczołu piersiowego. Na ropień piersi narażone są również kobiety po lub w trakcie radioterapii z powodu raka.
Do czynników ryzyka ropnia piersi zalicza się również cukrzycę, obniżenie odporności (np. z powodu zakażenia wirusem HIV), stres i przemęczenie, niedożywienie, palenie tytoniu, ucisk piersi z powodu ucisku wywołanego przez bieliznę lub ubranie.
Przyczyną ropnia piersi najczęściej jest infekcja bakteryjna (najczęstszy czynnik etiologiczny stanowią bakterie gronkowca złocistego).
Powikłania ropnia piersi
Ropień piersi w przypadku przebicia treści ropnej przez skórę może spowodować powstanie przetoki pomiędzy zmianą chorobową a powierzchnią skóry. Infekcja bakteryjna może również ulec rozsianiu na cały organizm.
Leczenie ropnia piersi
W leczeniu wcześnie wykrytego ropnia piersi stosuje się farmakoterapię niesteroidowymi lekami przeciwzapalnymi, lekami przeciwbólowymi lub antybiotykami doustnymi.
W przypadku wystąpienia wyraźnego nacieku stosuje się leczenie chirurgiczne polegające na nacięciu, opróżnieniu i oczyszczeniu ropnia.
