Wykorzystanie naturalnych substancji

Jak wyjaśnia prof. Irina Smirnova z RUDN University Berezov Department of Biochemistry, współautorka projektu:

– Nowoczesna mikrobiologia skupia się na fizjologicznie aktywnych produktach przemiany materii mikroorganizmów. Właściwości grzybów z rodzaju Trichoderma zostały dobrze poznane przez naukę. Szczep Trichoderma harzianum Rifai F-180 wytwarza duże ilości białka o nazwie L-lizyno-oksydaza. Białko to ma potwierdzone naukowo właściwości przeciwwirusowe oraz przeciwnowotworowe. Z tego powodu substancja ta może mieć szerokie zastosowanie farmaceutyczne. Można ją wykorzystać między innymi w leczeniu infekcji i uszkodzeń skóry – tłumaczy ekspertka.

Badania nad formułą

Wcześniejsze badania nad L-lizyno-oksydazą pozwoliły naukowcom ustalić bezpieczne stężenie substancji czynnej (1 proc.). Zanim opracowano ostateczną formułę produktu, naukowcy przetestowali szereg substancji, które miały posłużyć jako baza dla L-lizyno-oksydazy. Badane substancje musiały spełnić odpowiednie kryteria: wspierać działanie substancji aktywnej, zapewnić łatwą aplikację i przechowywanie produktu, a ponadto nie powodować podrażnień ani reakcji alergicznych. W przebiegu badań wyłoniono trzy substancje, które spełniały wymienione warunki: metylocelulozę, karbopol oraz mARS.

Następnie naukowcy przeprowadzili badania nad działaniem poszczególnych formuł produktu na świnkach morskich. Skórę zwierząt poddano mechanicznym urazom, a po 18 godzinach rozpoczęto leczenie. Każde ze zwierząt było leczone jednym z trzech rodzajów żelu przez dwa tygodnie. Wyniki badań wykazały, że rany zwierząt leczonych produktem opartym na metylocelulozie goiły się najdłużej – średnio przez 9-10 dni. Najlepsze efekty uzyskano natomiast w terapii żelem na bazie karbopolu. W tej grupie czas leczenia wyniósł 6-7 dni.

Skuteczność w leczeniu ran

Jak podsumowuje prof. Irina Smirnova:

– Na podstawie wyników badań możemy potwierdzić, że żel na bazie karbopolu z 1-proc. zawartością l-lizyno-oksydazy pobieranej z grzybów Trichoderma ma silne właściwości lecznicze. Kolejny etap projektu to badania prekliniczne. Opracowana przez nas formuła może znaleźć zastosowanie w medycynie weterynaryjnej, a także w medycznej kosmetologii, ginekologii i leczeniu nowotworów skóry – mówi ekspertka.
