Powikłania po zrobieniu kolczyka w obrębie jamy ustnej

Zabieg przekłucia warg lub języka za pomocą kolczyka może nieść za sobą poważne konsekwencje zdrowotne w postaci powikłań miejscowych oraz ogólnoustrojowych. Jakie są najczęstsze komplikacje związane z kolczykami w obrębie jamy ustnej?

Lokalizacja i rodzaj kolczyków

Kolczyki w obrębie jamy ustnej mogą być umieszczane nie tylko na wargach i języku, ale również na wędzidełkach, policzkach oraz na języczku. Co istotne, kolczyki mogą być wykonane z różnych materiałów. Rodzaj wykorzystanego do produkcji kolczyka metalu może mieć duże znaczenie dla wystąpienia ewentualnych komplikacji. Kolczyki są najczęściej wykonane z tytanu, stali nierdzewnej, akrylu lub innych metali (np. nikiel).

Wczesne powikłania po założeniu kolczyka

Wczesne powikłania występują w ciągu 24 godzin od zabiegu i mogą się utrzymywać do dwóch tygodni. Po tym czasie zwykle ustępują samoistnie.

Do powikłań wczesnych zalicza się ból, obrzęk i krwawienie w miejscu przekłucia (w tym krwawienie przedłużone), a także miejscowe infekcje i stany zapalne. Tego rodzaju powikłania najczęściej dotyczą języka. Ma to związek z budową anatomiczną i bogatym unaczynieniem tej części ciała. Objawy te, jeśli dotyczą języka, mogą doprowadzić do wystąpienia epizodów duszności, które w części przypadków wymagają hospitalizacji.

Wśród rzadziej występujących powikłań wymienia się wzmożony wypływ śliny, a także podrażnienia i reakcje alergiczne (spowodowane najczęściej użyciem kolczyka z domieszką niklu lub palladu). W rzadkich przypadkach zabieg piercingu może spowodować poważne powikłania, takie jak angina Ludwiga, martwica i ropień języka, porażenie nerwu twarzowego,  infekcyjne zapalenie wsierdzia, zakażenie wirusami WZW B, WZW C i HIV oraz tężcem.

Późne powikłania po założeniu kolczyka

Powikłania późne rozwijają się w ciągu kilku tygodni od założenia kolczyka. Mogą obejmować zaburzenia artykulacji, połykania i żucia, problemy z gojeniem rany po przekłuciu, a także powiększanie otworu, w którym znajduje się kolczyk. Do częstych powikłań należą także nawracające infekcje w okolicy piercingu oraz infekcje i zapalenia dziąseł, spowodowane odkładaniem się płytki bakteryjnej w okolicy kolczyka.

Kolczyki w obrębie jamy ustnej mogą również spowodować recesję dziąseł oraz zapalenie ślinianki, a także parestezje.
